At home

I'm sitting with my family as I type this, my first blog. :) I've not really ever been a blogger in the past, but today...that changes!

I love my family. I wouldn't trade these last two weeks for the world. My mom's entire family came to our house. I have never seen her happier. There have been days full of love, laughter and joy. But something much deeper happened. I watched restoration happen between a father and a son, and two brothers talk after holding resentment against one another, tears because we love each other so much we don't want to leave this love fest. How is it that a family who has never connected, can listen to a sentimental story of a sister they haven't seen in 4 years, and cry together in agreement. How is it that we haven't been altogether in many many years, but be more connected than we ever have. How? ONE THING. Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has transformed our lives. Selflessness was chosen over pride. And Jesus Christ was glorified.

There were great times...like when I kicked butt in the family football game, and when we did our first annual talent show, and when I got to have an awesome conversation with my favorite uncle, and every time I heard my youngest cousin sing her little heart out. The memories are forever ingrained on my heart.

The lesson I have learned in the entirety of this Christmas season: Selflessness. How I need the grace of God.

Much Love.
